Hùng Nguyễn, president and chief executive officer of the National Congress of Vietnamese Americans, has received the Nice People award from kindness project DoOneNiceThing.com. The award is given to individuals who demonstrate extraordinary kindness and selflessness.
Arriving in the U.S. from Việt Nam at age 4, he grew up near Los Angeles, studied to be a priest, but later chose to follow a different path. He works full-time in the high-tech industry and also devotes many hours to helping others achieve the American Dream: home ownership, safe neighborhoods and economic security.
Nguyễn’s community involvements are numerous, including the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership, the Smithsonian Institution’s Vietnamese American Heritage Project and the California State Conference of the NAACP.
DoOneNiceThing.com’s mission is simple: Do one nice thing for someone every Monday. |
