Calling future students

The California State University will host a “Journey to Success” college fair at Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday. The Journey to Success events are hosted by CSU campuses and provide families, students, community and religious leaders with information about college preparation, planning and financial aid.

Open to students in 6th through 12th grade and community college students, the Journey to Success will feature workshops that review how to prepare and pay for college, information on CSU requirements for admission and application processes, and information booths promoting CSU campuses and Cal State L.A. programs and student organizations.

The outreach event also will include free lunch, entertainment, special giveaways and drawings, hands-on class activities and demonstrations, and tours of the Cal State L.A. campus.

The Journey to Success fairs – part of the CSU’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Initiative (AAPI) – are a collaboration of university officials and community members and are directed at improving college access and achievement for California‘s Vietnamese, Samoan, Tongan, Marshallese, Hawaiian, Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, Fijian, and underserved Chinese and Filipino communities.
