GGUSD to host college planning nights


GARDEN GROVE, Calif. ― Call it one-stop shopping for the
college-bound student.

            Intermediate and high school
students and their parents are invited to learn about college planning at
back-to-back workshops being hosted in March by the Garden Grove Unified School
District.

            The GGUSD is teaming
with Princeton Review and college admissions experts to present free “Roadmap
to College” nights on March 1, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Los Amigos High School, and
repeated the following week on March 8, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Rancho Alamitos
High School.

            Los Amigos High is
located at 16566 Newhope St., Fountain Valley, and Rancho Alamitos High is
located at 11351 Dale St., Garden Grove.

            Both events are “must
attend” activities for GGUSD intermediate and high school students and their
parents eager for tools to navigate the college-preparation experience, and
will feature a comprehensive range of topics including understanding PSAT
results, college application and admissions procedures, financial aid and
scholarships, testing, study skills, choosing a college, selecting a major,
community colleges, high school “A-G” course requirements, and the benefits of
a college education, among others.

            Registration is not
required, but attendees who pre-register at will be entered into a prize
drawing. Send an email to

            Free childcare and
interpretation in Vietnamese, Spanish and Korean will be available.
