Van Nguyen eyes main draw at All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES – UCLA junior women’s tennis player Chanelle Van Nguyen is just one match away from qualifying for the main draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, as she won two rounds of qualifying on Tuesday.

Van Nguyen lost just two games in both of her matches, downing both Kentucky’s Kelsey Dieters and Santa Clara’s Katie Le by idential 6-0, 6-1 scores. She will face Florida’s Belinda Woolcock on Wednesday, with the winner of that match advancing to the main draw.
