The prostitute syndicates were busted in the Ghanaian city of Takoradi in the Western part of the country, just on the coast of the Atlantic where Ghana’s oil reserve is located.

The Crusading Guide Newspaper reported that Ana’s undercover work also led to the rescue of six Vietnamese women who the Chinese nationals recruited to Ghana on the pretext of finding them jobs but ended up forcing them into prostitution.

The Newspaper said intelligence information on the activities of the traffickers was first circulated by the International Police Agency and given to Anas Aremeyaw Anas to investigate.

The US embassy and the UK High Commission in Ghana were said to have also assisted in the investigation too.

Local media say the women forced into the prostitution were given fake names as Hung, 32, Bian, 29, Anh, 35, Hoa, 31, Thi, 38, and Mai, 38, by the Chinese nationals and have been in Ghana over a year now.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas then disguised himself as John Sullivan from America and working at the oil rig for Tullow Oil Ghana, went to the traffickers and requested the services of two of the ladies.
