GARDEN GROVE, Calif. ― Hoping to give parents a better understanding of youth gangs, the Garden Grove Unified School District is hosting a free parenting education seminar on March 7. The seminar is set for 6 p.m. in the gymnasium at Santiago High School, 12342 Trask Ave., Garden Grove. The program, titled “The Power of Parents: Gang Awareness,” features a presentation by Steve Kim, gang prevention and intervention specialist from the Orange County Department of Education. All presentations are in English with interpretation in Vietnamese, Spanish and Korean. The community and all adult family members are invited. Information and resources will be available from representatives of partner community agencies, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove, Community Service Programs, Stanton Family Resource Center and Magnolia Park Family Resource Center.
