Valentine’s Day dining in Orange County, Calif.

Forget the roses and chocolates in heart-shaped boxes and celebrate the day of love right by eating to your heart’s content this Valentine’s Day. Celebrate love and affection with a loved one with a decadent dinner at any one of these romantic restaurants.


         


Restaurants tend to book up quickly and most require reservations, so call ahead.


 


Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar, 1580 Disneyland Dr., Anaheim


Located in the center of Downtown Disney, fine dining restaurant Catal is offering a three-course menu for lovers on Valentine’s Day. Entrée selections include: whole wheat angel hair pasta, free range chicken, market fish, duo of beef, lamb shoulder and risotto. For dessert, choose either chocolate dacquoise or rose petal lychee raspberry cake. 5-10 p.m. Feb. 14. $55 per person. Reservations required. (714) 774-4442.


 


Anaheim White House, 887 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim


Treat that someone special to a Romeo and Juliet menu at Anaheim White House. Enjoy a four course prix fixe menu with an appetizer of Venus ravioli, a St. Valentino salad, an entrée of beef and whitefish and a Torta di Amore for dessert. Choose one of four seating times. Romance your valentine with the chef’s classic three-course set menu. Leatherby’s Cafe Rouge, 615 Town Center Dr., Costa Mesa


Leatherby’s at Segerstrom Center for the Arts offers a warm, minimalist atmosphere for lovers along with a delicious three- or four-course dinner. Enjoy an amuse bouche, a first course, an optional second course and entrée choices of Manchester Farms quail, duet of beef, duo of milk-fed veal or vegetable ratatouille. Charlie Palmer has created a six-course tasting menu for Valentine’s Day. The menu includes: a duo of oysters, artichoke salad, foie gras torchon, pan seared sea scallops, slow roasted venison loin and, for dessert, flourless dark chocolate torte. Enjoy a fine-dining experience this Valentine’s Day at The Cellar. This romantic venue will serve a special four-course menu with entrée selections: Braised lamb osso bucco, a duo of duck leg confit, grilled fillet and boiled gray sole. Tuscany Mediterranee Grill, 2010 Main St., Irvine


This unique Italian and Mediterranean restaurant has created two Valentine’s Day menus to choose from. Both menus include an appetizer plate with smoked salmon bruschetta, buffalo mozzarella and shrimp cocktail; a baby mixed greens salad and Tiramisu for dessert. The entrée selections vary between the two menus. Menu one: Fresh grilled salmon, New York steak and shrimp Livorno. Chef Gregory Moro has created a decadent menu to celebrate a week of love. On Valentine’s Day, enjoy a four-course menu. First course: Grilled prawn salad, beet salad or lobster bisque; second course: Foie gras terrine, oysters or roasted scallops au champagne; entrées: Filet mignon Rossini, loup de mer or lobster duo. For dessert choose between rhubarb crème brulee and raspberry harlequin soufflé. The week before V-Day, enjoy the same menu with the exception of the second-course options. An intimate dining experience, Pelican Hill’s popular Dinner of the Senses stimulates each of the five senses of sight, touch, taste, scent and sound. The five-course menu for two, served in a private Coliseum Cabana, allows each course to be eaten by hand without the use of utensils. Dine at The Ritz Restaurant and Garden for a romantic Valentine’s Day. Start off the meal with a seafood martini and a glass of champagne, continue with a choice of soup or salad and choose an entrée; Osso buco, rack of Colorado lamb, broiled Maine lobster tail, veal schnitzel, Australian sea bass, filet of Atlantic salmon, dover sole sauté and prime New York sirloin steak. Manhattan Steak and Seafood has created a four-course menu in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Begin the meal with butternut squash ravioli, then a plate of iceberg wedge salad; entrée selections include: New York steak, lobster tail or macadamia-crusted Alaskan halibut.
