Ebony Nguyen, 22, was scheduled to stand trial this week on a more serious charge of premeditated first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
The plea-agreement means that Nguyen will have to serve 20 years on the murder conviction before she is eligible for parole, rather than the 25 years that would have been mandated by a premeditated murder conviction.
Turner’s body was found in a field near Pawnee and 127th Street East on May 1, 2013, and a Crime Stoppers tip that night led to the arrest of three suspects who were charged with Turner’s murder.
