Planning for educational options after high school is the subject of an information night being hosted by the Garden Grove Unified School District for special education students and their parents on Feb. 9. The program takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Rancho Alamitos High School, 11351 Dale St., Garden Grove.
This free event will provide information about programs and services to support GGUSD special-needs students with their goals after high school. Topics to be covered include high school diploma requirements, requirements for a certificate of high school completion, and coursework needed for college admission.
Presenters will include representatives from the district’s Office of Special Education, the California Department of Rehabilitation, the Pathways certificate program at UCLA, a supported employment agency and disability services centers from various colleges and universities including UC Irvine, Concordia University, Cal State Fullerton, and community colleges.
