Contest updates:

The drawing and writing contest announcement has been sent to 5 school districts around Little Saigon: Garden Grove Union High School District, Anaheim Union High School District, Huntington Beach Union High School District, Anaheim Elementary School District and Westminster School District (K-8), to be forwarded and announced widely to Vietnamese American students.

Contest rules: Submission must be original and not been published anywhere on newspapers, magazines, TV broadcasting and social media. Submission must also be appropriate with the topics given. Nguoi-Viet employee’s family members and relatives are not eligible.

The first topic for Jan. 2018 contest is “Draw and/or write about your parents and siblings in your family.” Only children ages 11-16 years old are eligible for first contest.

Drawing submission: Maximum 5 pages
Writing submission: Maximum 1000 words

Stipend and Awards: Quaterly
First prize: $100
Second prize: $60
Third prize: $40

Deadlines: Last date of March, June, September. First deadline is March 31, 2018.

Contest is on-going with four deadlines per year.

Finalist and topics announcement: Every 3 months

All submission that meet contest rules and requirement will be published on Nguoi Viet English, Tieng Viet Dau Yeu page as well as Nguoi Viet online of the newspapers platform.
