Nga Truong’s family frantically called 911 that day in December 2008 when she found her 13-month-old son not breathing. Doctors couldn’t revive him. Detectives coerced a confession, getting her to say she killed her baby. She was just 16. Nearly three years later, a Massachusetts judge threw out the case, contending detectives didn’t adequately read Truong her rights and that they deceived her into confessing. She’s now 20, has a job, is in school and, remarkably, holds no bitterness toward police.
