Fullerton Arboretum sets classes for DIYers

          FULLERTON, Calif. ― The Fullerton Arboretum has scheduled a pair of classes for outdoor do-it-yourselfers.


          On Saturday, the venue will host a Home Composting class from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Attendees will learn beginning composting techniques as well as advanced steps for more seasoned composters. The cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members; residents of Fullerton, Brea, Buena Park and Santa Ana and Orange are admitted free.


          On June 16, the arboretum will host a Home Vineyard class that will demonstrate how to make a vineyard in the backyard. The class will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The details on how to properly establish a vineyard will be detailed. Attendees also will participate in the installation of the Fullerton Arboretum’s very own vineyard. The class is lead by Kent Gordon, department coordinator for the Horticulture Department at Fullerton College.


          That class is $20 for arboretum members and $25 for non-members.
