Study: Half of Asian American students in N.Y. middle and high schools have faced bullying


A “snapshot” study of more than 160 Asian American students in New York City public middle and high schools, conducted by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and Sikh Coalition, shows that half of them have been subjected to bullying about their race or religion during school hours. Despite the efforts of community leaders, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to thwart student harassment, it persists, according to the study.
