The 2013 YxineFF, an online short film festival, is set to open with the short film “Even just for one day” on www.yxineff.com on Sep 21 and its opening ceremony will be held at La Clef cinema in Paris, France the same day.

Five short films selected for screening include four films from the International Competition: “Even just for one day” by Nguyen Trong Khoi from Vietnam; “Underground” by Nguyen Tung Phong from Vietnam; “The Gravity” by Polen Ly from Cambodia, “Red River” by Stéphanie Lansaque and Francois Leroy from France, and “Grandfather”, a documentary by Dong Thao from Vietnam which is selected from the Local Competition. These films convey the filmmakers’ individual hallmark and reflect the concept of Choice – the theme of this year’s fest.
“Red River” is the sole representative of animation films at the International Competition. The film previously competed in the Critics’ Week (Semaine de la Critique) at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
Apart from two French directors Stéphanie Lansaque and Francois Leroy of the International Competition film “Red river”, YxineFF will also feature Vietnamese-French director Tran Anh Hung, writer Thuan and screen-writer Quoc Dang Tran in a discussion on the topic “The art of writing and transforming novels into films”.
