French distribution company Dissidenz Films, founded by former Blaq Out head Bich-Quan Tran, has launched an Asian unit called Dissidenz Asia to boost the exposure of Asian films in France.

The Asian label has been created “in order to offset the general feeling that Asian cinema has been underrepresented or had little exposure in France beyond A-Festivals, established authors titles or genre movies.”
Dissidenz’s goal is to build an identified Asian cinema label with 10 to 15 video releases per year, including two or three theatrical releases, Dissidenz said in a statement.
