WORCESTER — Ten men will be ordained to the Roman Catholic diaconate at services to be held next weekend at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul.

Five of those will be ordained as transitional deacons, a step in preparation for the priesthood. The others will ordained permanent deacons and will be assigned ministerial duties at the parish level.
The five to be ordained permanent deacons are: Paul R. Connolly, Dominick F. DeMartino, Richard Menard III, Peter Quy Nguyen, and Quat Van Tran.
Those to be ordained transitional deacons are: Andres Araque, Daniel Moreno, Juan Ramirez, Stephen Lundrigan, and Brother Ronald Sibugan.
Mr. Connolly, who attended Boston University and Anna Maria College, is a resident of Oxford and is a member of St. Roch Parish, Oxford. He is a field service specialist for Xerox Corp.
Mr. Connolly and his wife, Kerry, have a son.
Mr. DeMartino, who attended Carnegie Mellon University, lives in Brookfield and is a member of St. Joseph Parish in Charlton. He is a senior components engineer at Bose Corp.
He and his wife, Linda, have two children.
Mr. Menard, who graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and Anna Maria College, lives in Sturbridge and is a member of St. Joseph Parish, Charlton. He is a lieutenant with the Becker College Police.
He and his wife, Diane, have three children.
Mr. Nguyen lives in Worcester and is a member of St. Peter’s Parish. He is a mathematics teacher in the Worcester public school system.
He and his wife, June, have three children.
Mr. Nguyen holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, as well as a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Anna Maria College.
