Do you find yourself bored in your workout and diet routine? Dealing with overuse injuries or eating unhealthy just to get some new flavors? This is very common and many of our clients suffer from this before they come in and start training with us. What can you do? Follow the tips below.

—–Instead of going for a run everyday, try a different form of training. Circuit training and boxing/martial arts workouts can give you the same cardiovascular training benefits, with a more whole-body training focus. Also, varying from running to other forms of exercise can help to reduce running injuries, which are shown in some studies to be as high as 80%.
—–Always doing the same strength workout and not getting stronger? Try varying the sets and reps or scaling back for a short time to concentrate on a different aspect of fitness. Often times, you will come back stronger, more motivated, and be able to handle more training.
—–Stuck in a routine of always using barbells and dumbbells? Try lifting odd objects. They require a unique form of gripping and carry over very well to usable, practical whole body strength. In our gym, we use a 100 pound medicine ball, an array of kettlebells, and farmers walk handles to create variance and diversity in the training.
