Don’t bug out: They’re delicious, if you dare

If you’re a fan of Vietnamese chef Luke Nguyen and his food sensibility, than you’re in for a bit of a treat. According to Nguyen, bugs are the next best thing to come to the foodie world. Fried, satueed, or in a salad– you pick, they’re here to stay.

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Orgniation, two-billion people worldwide already eat 1900 protein-rich insect species as part of their diet. Nguyen insists insects like cockroaches, crickets, scorpions and spiders are the new direction of modern cuisine.

Along with Asia, including Vietnam, 36 countries in Africa, 23 in the Americas, and 11 in Europe are considered ‘entomophagous’, meaning they eat bugs, beetles, mealworms and grasshoppers as part of their diet.

The good news is, insects feel little or no pain, meaning we can eat them guilt free.
