Drinking enough water seems like a simple enough task, except many Americans don’t drink nearly as much as they should. That’s why CEO Nadya Nguyen started a venture last year called Hidrate Inc. and launched a kickstarter campaign to raise $35,000 to launch the “smart” water bottle. So far, they have raised $13,898.

The product, called HidrateMe, is a 24-ounce water bottle featuring a sensor stick that tracks how much a user drinks. The stick collects and sends data to a smartphone app. When it’s time for a user to drink more, the water bottle glows.
HidrateMe largely bases its hydration guidelines on simple inputs such as height, age and weight.
