It’s not often that countries like Vietnam garner buzz in celebrated beauty pageants, but this year’s contestant is giving many Vietnamese nationals hope. 24-year-old Huong Pham is vying for the title against a slew of beauties but has been trending on Facebook and other social media platforms. The Miss Universe Pageant will be held at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino on Sunday, 20 December at 7.00 PM (EST). The competitions are already underway, with the preliminary round having been completed as of December 16.

Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega, will crown her successor at the end of the event, in which singers like Charlie Puth, Seal and The Band Perry will perform. The Miss Universe 2015 pageant will be hosted by the Puerto Rican singer and actress Roselyn Sanchez, and the comedian and host Steve Harvey.
While all the gorgeous women have made a mark on the Miss Universe fans one way or another, there are a few contenstants who have maintained popularity in throughout the pageant, with Miss Vietnam Huong Pham and Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach ruling most social media conversations.
Miss USA Olivia Jordan, Miss India Urvashi Rautela and Miss Colombia Adriana Gutierrezz are also among the most talked about constants on the internet.
The judges at the Miss Universe contest at Planet Hollywood are Emmitt Smith, Niecy Nash, Olivia Culpo and Perez Hilton this year. However, for the first time, viewers are not just expected to make winner predictions, but they also have a say in deciding who the Miss Universe winner will be.
