Nguyen Son Tung, 31, was fined $561 for his violation, the police told local media Saturday.

Tung posted on his Facebook page named Tung Lo Gach on January 8 that a number of children were kidnapped near a local kindergarten and the children were then had their organs removed by the abductors.

His story was shared more than 2,700 times by other Facebook users. Local police investigated and found no cases as reported by Tung. After the police summoned him for questioning, Tung admitted he made up the story based on rumors he heard.
