Former Cowboys linebacker Dat Nguyen joined KRLD-FM earlier this week. Here are some highlights from the interview:
A look at some options the Cowboys will likely explore to replace the injured Sean Lee at middle linebacker. Vernon Bryant/Dallas News.

On hearing his thoughts after hearing Sean Lee went down on the first day of OTAs:
“I was devastated for a guy that has a lot of doubters up there. … You work so hard in the off-season and preparing yourself and setting that foundation to go out there and compete and try to prove people wrong. Everybody put that label on him as an injury-prone player. That was devastating to me.”
On where the Cowboys go from here:
“A couple years ago when Sean went down Bruce Carter came in and played. I don’t know if they’re going to look at that position. It might be a chance for Bruce to rebound from a year ago. But I think you’ve got to see what you have there. You have DeVonte Hollimon who played real well at the end of the year last year. He has one year under his belt. He’d be a natural fit just to move back in. I know we drafted Anthony Hitchens. He’s still young. I don’t know if you want to throw a rookie in the fire yet. Then you have Justin Durant. So you’ve got a couple guys you can maneuver and see what’s the best fit. … Is there a package there? Maybe you have somebody who plays first and second down and on third down you have to get somebody else in to take away that position.”
