From WIRE REPORTS
More than 81 percent of 1,420 international tourists who visited Ha Noi want to return to Viet Nam’s capital city, according to a recent survey.
Ninety-three percent of the tourists said Ha Noi is worth visiting, according to reports.
Most of those surveyed gave the city positive reviews, namely for its cultural values, historic sites and safety.
But, they also found environmental hygiene, traffic infrastructure, and the attitude of some taxi drivers and shopkeepers troublesome, the survey revealed.
Accordingly, officials have urged local agencies to apply various measures to boost Ha Noi’s image, like tackling traffic and environmental problems and designating specific areas for tourists.
Educational programs for and the improved control over taxi drivers and street vendors are also needed, according to the officials.
In the meantime, local travel companies and hotels also will face greater scrutiny in response to tourists’ complaints about the quality of services and prices, the news report said.
Ha Noi aims to attract 2.25 million foreign tourists this year from 2.1 million last year, according to reports.
