Streamy Awards 2014 has come and gone and winners have been named, including favorite YouTube stars Michelle Phan and Tyler Oakley.

Held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Streamy Awards 2014 honored the best of online video. But honors were lauded before the actual show as Pitbull, Michelle Pahn, Tyler Oakley and Shay Carl were given the award-giving body’s first Icon Awards.
The Icon Award is reportedly the Streamy Awards’ highest honor. The show’s executive producer Drew Baldwin said the purpose of the award is to give honor to “creators who have made tremendous contributions to their communities through online video and social media.”
Pitbull won under the music category. Phan was lauded for inspiring beauty enthusiasts. Shay Butler, also known as Shay Carl, was given praise for entrepreneurship. And Tyler Oakley, an LGBT advocate was awarded for his activism.
Some other awards were also given on Thursday at the YouTube Space in Playa Vista, Los Angeles. The pre-awarded winners were Brittany Fulan as Viner of the Year, “Video Game High School” for Ensemble cast, Tyler Oakley for audience choice for Entertainer of the Year, and “EnchufeTV” for audience choice for Show of The Year.
