Writer, journalist, and teacher Nguyen Xuan Hoang died last Saturday in the city of San Jose, California. He was 74 years old. He left very peacefully in the presence of his family, including his wife, Mrs. Truong Gia Vy, son, daughter and three grandchildren.

He was born on July 7, 1940 in Nha Trang, and graduated from Dalat University majoring in philosophy. In 1961 he began teaching at Ngo Quyen high school, (Bien Hoa) and Petrus Ky (Saigon). From 1972 to 1974, he held the position of Managing Editor of Van Magazine (Literature) in Saigon.
