This is a bay in the northern part of Vietnam along a coastline of 120 KMs in the Gulf of Tonkin and means the Bay of Descending Dragons. It is a great tourist attraction with 1600 islands, thick jungles and offering a spectacular view with limestone pillars. The islands have huge caves, lakes and floating villages and many of the islands are uninhabited and pristine. The place also offers a biological diversity with its limestone karst landforms and limestone pillars offering majestic natural scenery.
Thien Mu Pagoda
The Thien Mu Pagoda is located in Hue and is the tallest one in Vietnam. It is located with an overview of the River Perfume and is considered to be the emblem of previous imperial capital of the country. The pagoda temple was constructed by the Nguyen Lords during 1601 and was initially a very simple construction, but was later expanded and renovated. The pagoda is surrounded by many ornamental plants and flowers, with a calm, romantic pine forest stretching beyond.
Hoan Kiem Lake
This scenic lake is located in a historic place called Hanoi and is a favorite spot for spending leisure time. The work means returned sword and the term has been related to a legend in the land, where King Le Loi had a magical sword that was given to him by God. He used this magical sword for combating the Chinese who invaded the land. The sword was then returned to the Golden Turtle, the god of the lake. The place is a haven for relaxation and yet it is not very far from some of the important destinations in the country. It is just 45 minutes from the Noi Bai International Airport.
