It is hard to believe that an uncle would attack his two nephews, but police in Albuquerque have identified the man who they believe shot and killed two brothers at the House of Pho Friday as the men’s uncle, 58-year-old Dung Nguyen.

Dung Nguyen is the brother of the men’s father, Hung Nguyen, who was injured in the shooting, police say.

Police say Dung Nguyen shot and killed Anpha Nguyen, 31, and Jerry Nguyen, 24, in their Vietnamese food restaurant on San Mateo around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The brothers died on the scene.

Hung Nguyen was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Dung Nguyen shot and killed himself a short time later when officers tried to pull his car over, said officer Tanner Tixier, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the victims’ families. You can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/houseofpho.
