The couple that steals together, goes to jail together

Vinny Hoai Nguyen and his girlfriend Quynh Nhu Nguyen were arrested after investigators obtained a search warrant of their house on suspicions of fraud. Authorities say the couple were invovled in numerous identity theft crimes last week, including an incident at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.

During a search of the home, detectives allegedly found numerous credit card manufacturing devices, hundreds of credit cards in various stages of being altered, dozens of stolen identification cards, numerous altered checks, several laptop computers and $8,300 in cash.

Detectives were contacted by a Bank of America fraud investigator reporting a theft case on Nov. 23, having been alerted to the theft by another alleged fraud that occurred at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in May.

Officials said a bank customer reported $46,866 was stolen from their savings and home equity line of credit accounts.  With the assistance of the Bank of America fraud investigator and investigators from the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, detectives alleged that Vinny Nguyen was their suspect.

According to officials, Vinny and Quynhnhu Nguyen were arrested and transported to Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where they were both were booked for numerous felony Identity Theft related crimes.
