UFC Fighter Ben Nguyen known as ‘bully beater’

When UFC fighter Ben Nguyen uploaded a clip of his fight with Jules Rabaud, he didn’t think it’d go viral or that it would brand him as a “bully-beater,” a title he relishes.

Rabaud, who was clearly the aggressor in the video, was defeated by Nguyen in a now famous 25 seconds. Because of some clever editing, showing a clip of Rabaud staring Nguyen down and then losing, it became a good guy vs. bad guy scenario with a happy ending. The clip has over 9 million views on YouTube so far.

For Nguyen, who used to be bullied as a kid, this nickname has extra meaning since he experienced it. After being roughed up a few times in his youth, his mom enrolled him into martial arts classes and the rest they say, is history. Though Nguyen is humble about it, he said it’s nice to be “internet famous” and recognized on the street. He also said it makes him feel good to prove that being a good fighter doesn’t involve having to look or act tough.
