MOUNT
VERNON, Wash. ― The man struck and killed by a Washington State Patrol car at
Mount Vernon has been identified by the Skagit County coroner’s office as
26-year-old from Viet
Nam, Hong Dinh Nguyen.
The
patrol says he was walking across an Interstate 5 exit ramp Tuesday night when
he was struck by the patrol car. Deputy Coroner Bob Clark says he died of a
head injury and the death was accidental.
The
Skagit Valley Herald reports the trooper has been place on leave while the
