When going to the market is not a chore, but a joy

ANTONY, France (NV) – If going to the grocery market is a daily chore, a number of reasons would spring to mind: not enough time, two many options, ingredients are tasteless, generic modified food, fishy smell at the fish counter, expensive needed items, useless items, ect. Or that nagging cause of laziness and boring market.

Then there is this exciting market in a surburb town of 61,700, the go-to place for Antoniens every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning. Buslting with fresh ingredients from local and international farms and located right in the center of a connected city of Antony, France, the Antony market (Maché d’Antony) gathers all the goodness from that of French cuisine.

One traveler from California said, “This place is a great example of why France is such a joy to visit.”

On mornings after new year, Antoniens walked to the market not just to shop for their daily grocery but also to catch up with other locals, and to say “Bonne Année-Happy New Year” to each other. They would take their time, asked about each other businesses, even though they might have talked to each other last week or yesterday.

The recent project, Antonypole-a building area priorily designated for pre-equipment of the optical fiber pole that connected the outer areas surrouding Paris via express transport station, spearheaded by the French government would make Antony one of the 51 new urban sites within Greater Paris.

This sets Maché d’Antony 20 minutes from Paris’ center, 3 minutes from Orly aiport nearby, a future economic player of the area, and puts local farmer markets in the United States to shame.
