Clinton-Mendenhall
Elementary School in Garden Grove, Calif., is hosting a community resource fair
and open house on Thursday for students and their families.
The free resource fair,
scheduled 5 to 6:30 p.m., brings together more than 20 agencies and
organizations from throughout the community with information on health care,
family support, crime prevention, literacy, housing and financial counseling. A
school-wide open house follows from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with all classrooms open
for visits by attendees.
Pizza dinner will be
served at 5 p.m. on a pre-order basis. Snacks and beverages will be available
for purchase.
“This event is being
held to showcase the many resources that are available to support our children
and their families within the community served by our school,” said Carrie
Mitchell, principal.
Some of the agencies
committed to the resource fair include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden
Grove, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Buena Clinton Youth &
Family Center, Campfire USA, CHOC Asthma Breath Mobile, Community Action
Partnership, Consumer Counseling Services of Orange County, Garden Grove Drug
Free Task Force, Girls Inc., Healthy Smiles of Orange County, Housing with
Heart/Jamboree Housing, Orange County Public Libraries, Orange County Asian
& Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Orange County Lead Poisoning
Prevention and Santa Ana YMCA.
