SAN JOSE ― Scott Hung Pham, a former trustee of the Alum Rock Union School District, and the city’s ex-vice mayor Cindy Chavez have paid the fee to pay for nomination papers for the June 4 election to fill a vacancy on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.

Pham and Chavez have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to return their paperwork for their names to appear on the ballot. They are seeking to replace George Shirakawa Jr., who resigned earlier this month under allegations of financial misdeeds. He has entered a guilty plea to the charges.
Also filing papers: Teresa Alvarado, a Santa Clara Valley Water District communications manager; teacher Patricia Martinez-Roach; and David S. Wall, a retired San Jose city worker.
