Desiring to bring essential health services to the Vietnamese community, State Sen. Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) and the Vietnamese Community Health organization at UCLA are joining to hold a free health fair next month.

Several services will be provided at the health fair, including: glucose and cholesterol information from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy; dental screening by the UCLA School of Dentistry; and consultations by Dr. Thuy Anh Nguyen from Kaiser Permanente, as well as Dr. Long Nguyen and Dr. Quynh Le.
Additionally, visitors can see Tai Nguyen at the bone marrow registry or take part in an eye screening from Dr. Phuong T. Le at Horizon Optometry.
For the first time, the fair also is offering mammograms for women 40 and older; mammograms will be private and confidential. To schedule a mammogram appointment, call Nancy Hoan Le, outreach manager, at (714) 871-4488, Ext. 205.
The Vietnamese Community Health organization is made up of UCLA students who train to improve health care for low-income families in the Vietnamese community of Southern California. For more information about the health fair, contact Vietnamese Community Health at (714) 725-8173 or Karen Tran at Sen. Correa’s office at (714) 558-4400.
