Madison, Wis., will mark the one-year anniversary of hip-hop artist John “Vietnam” Nguyen, a University of Wisconsin student who drowned in an area lake last year. At the time of his death, Nguyen was attending school on scholarship through the First Wave program, which centered on the spoken word and hip-hop culture.
