Former Texas A&M football players Charlie Krueger and Dat Nguyen will be inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 27 in Waco.
Krueger, who played at Caldwell High School, was a three-year letterman at A&M from 1955-57. He was a two-time All-American, helping the Aggies win the 1956 Southwestern Conference title.
Krueger was selected in the first round of the 1958 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He played 15 seasons for the 49ers, twice making the Pro Bowl. He was inducted into the Texas A&M Hall of Fame in 1972 and the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame in 1982.
Nguyen, who earned all-state honors at Rockport Fulton, made a school-record 517 tackles from 1995-98 for the Aggies. He helped A&M to its last league championship, winning the Big 12 in 1998. He earned All-America honors that season and won the Lombardi Award and Bednarik Trophy.
