US Secretary of State John Kerry
WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Jerusalem, Ramallah, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Tacloban, and Manila from December 11 to 18 where he will be holding with talks with top official and meetings, it was announced here Monday.
State Department Spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said in a statement that in Jerusalem, Kerry will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss a range of issues including “Iran and the ongoing final status negotiations with the Palestinians.” In Ramallah, Kerry will meet with President Mahmoud Abbas, where he will also discuss the “ongoing final status negotiations, among other issues.” On his trip to Asia, this be will be Kerry’s fourth to the region since becoming Secretary of State, and Kerry’s travel to Vietnam and the Philippines “demonstrates the enduring US commitment and his personal connections to the region.” Kerry’s visit to Vietnam “will highlight the dramatic transformation in the bilateral relationship over the years and our growing partnership in many areas,” where he will meet with senior Vietnamese leaders and discuss a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.
