Travel experts have compiled their choices of the world’s best destinations for solo travelers.
Marybeth Bond, founder of The Gutsy Traveler website, started traveling alone at age 29 and has visited more than 100 countries. Some of her favorite solo cities include Boston, Montreal and Paris.
Gary Arndt, award-winning photographer and blogger at Everything Everywhere, sold his house in Minnesota in 2007 and has been traveling since, visiting more than 140 countries with no permanent home. His suggestions include the isolated island of St. Helena, Fiji’s Yasawa Islands and Berlin, the capital of Germany.
Arndt says mingling is easy for solo travelers at these destinations.
