Saigon takes steps to prevent spread of MERS-CoV

SAIGON – Saigon’s Health Department is taking measures to prevent the spread of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

The municipal international health quarantine centre will use remote body temperature apparatus to detect people with high fever at international airports, border gates and sea ports.


Those suspected of suffering from fever will be isolated immediately and receive preliminary checkups and tests.


The city’s preventive health centre will be responsible for monitoring in the community and preparing facilities and medicines to cope with the disease in the event of an outbreak.
