There are new developments with Dawn Nguyen, the only person charged in connection with the West Webster tragedy.

She has already been sentenced in state court to up to four years in prison but today she was in federal court. She could spend up to 30 years more in prison if found guilty of lying on a form to buy guns and giving them to a convicted felon.
Today she was planning to avoid a second trial by pleading guilty on related federal charges but at the last minute, her attorney, John Parrinello, asked prosecutors in court to consider an internal policy that gives them discretion to dismiss the indictment if they feel the same issues were already satisfied in the earlier trial.
The government says it has no intention of dismissing anything. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Noto said, “We’re very disappointed the case was not resolved. The victims in this case deserve closure of this last piece.”
