The most popular tourist attractions in all 50 states

The beautiful, 223-year-old Portland Head Light lighthouse, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, is the most popular travel attraction in the Pine Tree State, according to user data collected by the travel website TripAdvisor.com. Can you guess which tourist spot in California is the most popular? How about in Texas?

TripAdvisor shared with us the most popular attraction in each of the 50 states based on the “TripAdvisor Popularity Index, which takes into account the quality, quantity, and recency of reviews.” If you’re surprised big spots like Disneyland or the Statue of Liberty didn’t make the map, it’s because other attractions beat them out by a combination of these measures.
