Ebola survivor Nina Pham sues Texas Health Resources

Nina Pham risked her life to save another and almost lost her own. As one of the first Americans to be infected with ebola in October of 2014, Pham went through several intense rounds of trial medications to be cleared of the virus. She was one of the lucky ones. Because of the trauma it put her through, she is suing the parent company of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital for failing to properly train nurses on how to treat ebola.

She says she suffers from hair loss, nightmares and body aches in addition to unknown effects of the experimental drugs used to treat her. She says she hopes this lawsuit will help big corporations to properly train nurses and health officials. Texas Health says they hope they can work out an agreement with Pham and consider her part of their family. Amber Vinson, the other nurse working with Pham who was also infected and recovered, has not filed suit.
