Two teenagers died of potential drug overdose over the weekend in Pomona. Katie Rebecca Dix, 19, and Tracy Nguyen, 18, of West Covina, fell ill at the HARD Summer festival concert at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds. The teens did not attend the festival together.

A photo of Tracy Nguyen was posted on a GoFundMe.com account set up for her family. (Photo: GoFundMe.com)
Nguyen collapsed at the festival and appeared to suffer some sort of seizure while being taken to a hospital. She died there about 6 p.m. Nguyen was a business economics major at UCLA and a GoFundMe.com account has been set up for her family. Medical Examiner’s spokesman Ed Winter said an initial hospital report on Dix’s death said she had been drinking and may have injected some drug, then gone into respiratory distress.
Officials say autopsies have not yet been completed, nor have toxicology tests been done to determine the cause of the two women’s deaths. The two-day concert was held over the weekend at the Fairplex in Pomona. County officials are working to put bans on musical festivals such as this following the fatalities.
