If you live in the bay area and need a place to go for fun activities on Fridays from 3-6pm, the Vietnamese Youth Development Center has just the spot for you. Located at 166 Eddy St., the neighborhood program is intended to be a safe place for youth living in or near the Tenderloin district.

In addition, mental-health counseling is available through the Southeast Asian Mental Health Initiative (SEAMHI), which it’s piloting in conjunction with Friday Hangouts.
While the VYDC was founded by Vietnamese refugees who saw a need for services for the southeast Asian community, its programs are open to all ethnic groups. Since 1978, VYDC has offered programs for 18-24 year olds and youth workforce development programs, among other initiatives.
