Never leave your children unattended, and especially if they are young, never leave them to play with sharp objects such as nails! A father in Vietnam is learning this the hard way after his son accidentally swallowed an iron nail. The child is only 18-months-old.

The family is from Ca Mau and was rushed in after he cried for hours and vomited. An X-ray scan showed the 4.5-centimeter-long iron nail in his stomach.
The boy’s family said his father carelessly gave him two iron nails to play with and left the scene to do something.
When the father came back, he saw the boy crying and vomiting. He found only one iron nail left and suspected the boy had swallowed the other one.
Doctors were able to successfully remove it. They said there was damage but luckily, the child was treated before the situation became dire.
