Jennifer Nguyen, a pharmacist in Washington is charged with multiple drug offenses relating to her employment as a pharmacist and is suspected of stealing $13,000 worth of drugs.
The Sedro-Woolley Police Department began an investigation of Nguyen in October, when loss prevention staff at Rite Aid reported they suspected Nguyen in the theft of about $9,500 in prescription drugs over several months.
Nguyen reportedly declined to be interviewed by Rite Aid staff and resigned from her job. She became a “float” pharmacist, which allowed her to work at different pharmacies, the affidavit states.
Nguyen was asked multiple times to return her keys to the Rite Aid pharmacy, but did not until Aug. 27. Video footage shows her entering the pharmacy after hours and accessing drawers containing prescription medications. Nguyen was arrested at Anacortes Pharmacy, where she was working.
Nguyen is also accused of being impaired while immunizing two children, both under the age of 10, at a Mount Vernon pharmacy, the document states. The immunizations may have been made with needles that previously had been used. Investigation of that incident is ongoing.Nguyen is being held in Skagit County Jail on $100,000 bail.
