Five Vietnamese men have been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis after an off-duty cop spotted two men loading bags into a van.

The sergeant, who has not been named by police, was in Ladysmith Road, Lipson at around 4.30pm yesterday when he saw the two men carrying bags from a property into a van. It is understood he could smell cannabis and so contacted response officers.
As they arrived three men left in the van, which was stopped by police, and two men left via the rear of the property. They too were stopped and arrested by police.
