Marijuana leads to forfeiture of Canada home

 Vu Huy Nguyen owns a house in East Vancouver, British Columbia, that three times has been connected to a marijuana-growing operation. In each instance, Nguyen said, the marijuana wasn’t tied to him but instead to tenants who rented it from him. Still, Nguyen has been ordered in the Canadian province to turn over more than $440,000 in proceeds from the sale of that home since local law said property used for criminal activity can be seized – even without criminal charges.

From what I can glean from court documents and B.C.’s online registry, Vu Huy Nguyen has never been charged with a crime in connection to the three marijuana grow-ops police have discovered in his East Vancouver home.
