SAN JOSE, Calif. — A new store owner in San Jose hit the jackpot by selling one of the two tickets to the Mega Millions jackpot. One of the big winners has yet to come forward but they will be splitting $648 million.

The winning Mega Millions lottery numbers are: 8, 14, 17, 20, 39 and Mega Ball 7.
It’s a celebration at Jenny’s Gifts and Kids Wear in east San Jose. A big payout has already taken place and the person with the winning ticket hasn’t even come forward yet.
“We are so happy to be presenting our retailer from Jenny’s Gift, Thuy Nguyen, with a $1 million commission check,” California Lottery official Mona Sanders said.
Nguyen couldn’t have looked happier Wednesday morning. He just bought Jenny’s Gifts and Kids Wear off Tully Road in east San Jose four months ago. The timing couldn’t have been better. He sold one of two winning Mega Millions tickets on December 15 and found out last night he was getting his own prize.
He came to this country 20 years ago from Vietnam. The entire Vietnamese community in San Jose is celebrating.
“Today is a good day. I’m so excited. I won a $1,000, $1 million too,” Nguyen said.
Lottery officials showed up Wednesday morning and covered Nguyen’s store with signs proclaiming “Millionaires Made Here.”
Some in the Vietnamese community took pictures of the lucky store and others went inside to buy more tickets.
