Store reduces prices, ends ‘sales’

On Wednesday, J. C. Penney stores will unveil their new logo along with a new pricing strategy that will do away with traditional sales.

Instead of having weekly sales, the company will instill it’s “Fair and Square Pricing,” which will give customers lower regular prices so they don’t have to wait for a sale event.

The Fair and Square program includes three types of prices: Everyday, regular prices, which are always low; Month-Long Values, even better prices on the things customers need now; and Best Prices, the store’s lowest prices, which always happen on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month as J.C. Penney makes room for new merchandise.

Rather than inundating the customer with a series of sales, coupons and rebates, J.C. Penney will host 12 promotional events each year. Each month will include even better values on the things customers are looking to buy during the month along with products and services that are unique to the month.
